Notes

Permits are required from Nov 1 through April 30. This area is basically a parking lot. For a quick overnight or two it works pretty well. There are no services. We had other people camping in the lot as well overnight. They mostly kept to themselves, I think they were camping to go to the lake in the morning since they were all pretty much gone by 8am each morning we were there. Only one guy with an RV parked right behind us and stayed two nights. They were a little weird but at least they kept to themselves. It was hard to find an area to setup the popup toilet area. The weekend we were there, it looks like they used it for some sort of mountain bike tours in the morning.

We did detach and try to find other spots but there really was not any to be had. We did find a spot that was taken, but you really needed to know that spot existed first and you would need to have scouted it first because otherwise it would have been hard to turn around.

We did follow the Blue Diamond Snow Mobile Trail and we were able to find a place to walk down to the Paulina Creek. So we stopped and had a snack there on our Hike. That slope was around 43.71228, -121.31335
