What is this?

If you come to this website, you might be wondering what is going on here. Well first off, welcome to my site. It is a collection of stuff about two primary things, our travels in our RV and about my Role-playing Game hobby, which at this point I am attempting to do some stuff while we traveling.

Well we had a good rest at the last spot in Auburn, WA near Tacoma, WA. Certainly something we needed to have. I still no have no idea why the hotspot was so slow. I am just glad I was able to make things work there.

Saturday, we did the long drive to Bainbridge Island. We have a five day Boondockers Welcome site here. The wife did a crazy parking job. Personally, I have no idea how the hell we are going to get out of here, but that is a problem for another day.

Yesterday, we did a little bit of kayaking in Eagle Harbor since our Hosts had some kayaks we could borrow. The wife has been wanting to try kayaking for a while. While interesting, I think she is glad we did not spend any money renting kayaks,

Time to work here for the next few days until Thursday.

Left our Boondockers Welcome spot in Olympia. We sort of hated to go. It was a great spot with some very welcoming people there. The neighbors across the street had a garden we got a ton of stuff from it.

Our new spot near Tacoma, WA. The cell signal here is not so good but at least I can still work for the most part. It is weird that upload is faster than the download, but at long as I can work, then I am going to call it good. In general, we not a fan of Tacoma. Still this is a good place to rest, relax, and regroup for our next stay.

On the way here we noticed that our secondary water storage tank got something in it. So we had to drain it and wash it. We need to keep a better eye on it and make sure we use the water in there so it does not get funky again.

We finally moved on from our Boondockers Welcome site yesterday. We decided to stop at the Silver Falls State Park near Salem to use the RV dump there near there. It took us about 60 total miles out of our way. The wife was not thrilled about that.

We managed to drive a little through Portland, about an hour and half behind scheule. We got to see quite a bit of the homeless encampments that have cropped up everywhere. We are not sure if they even have a plan to deal with them, the city has really turn to crap as far as we could tell in just less than six years (which is the last time we were here).

We finallly stopped at the Scatter Creek Safety Stop for the night. The most unique thing here is that they have 3 lanes for RV Dumps. So three people can be dumping at one time. This morning it was overcast and I was little worried that the batteries would not charge. It's almost noon and there is a little more sunlight coming out and that seems to be charging the batteries just fine for now.

Later this afternoon, we move up towards Olympia to our two night stay at our next Boondocker's Welcome Host

Yesterday afternoon we left Eugene Camping World and headed out to our next Boondockers Welcome site in Corvallis. It was hot needless to say. Not sure what the final temp was but it is likely going to be hotter today and tomorrow, something the wife sure is not happy about. It is not too bad of a place. The gentleman that hosts uses the location for work, I think he hosts people because he likes sticking it to the new houses. Seems they are part of the city while he land is technically county and he gets to do things they are unable to do because he is in the county and they are in the city. Got to love it. Still getting the RV into the spot required the wife to pull off some really tight turns. I have to give it to her, she can do things, that I certainly would not be able to do. If our host had not had this one trailer where he did and that was open spot, then the whole thing would have been simple.

Today, I think the wife is going to get some groceries and gas for the truck (we should have filled up the truck earlier yesterday).

I did email the US Forest Service about the Sno Park Closures. They emailed me back in under 6 hours with this response.

«< Hello,

Thank you for contacting us.

It is the Sno-Park that is temporarily closed for the season, but you may camp in your RV. Please be aware that no campfires are allowed. Propane cook stoves with an on/off valve is fine.

Please let us know if you have any further questions.

Thank you «<

So that is good news. If we decide to back east across the Cascades then we will have places to go to.

Late July 23, we moved on to the next Rest Stop. This one was not quite what we expected on the northbound side. We ended up moving over the southbound side. Seems there was a derelict Class C that someone was living out of. It smelled pretty bad, and we would have had to park right next to it, so we moved on.

July 24, we moved over street that has 4 Spirits Distillery and went to the Block 15 Brewery there for snack and some beers. We stay there the night and did a lot of house keeping Sunday. Finally Sunday night we moved on back to the Peoria Park to stay for night.

Later today, we will be back at Eugene Camping World for the night to fill up and dump, and spend the night before we finally move on tomorrow afternoon to our Boondockers Welcome site.

Note, it is getting hot again.
