Willard Springs Rd
Location : South of Flagstaff about 10 miles
GPS: 34.976953, -111.697208
Cell Signal : T-Mobile down 10 Mbps / up 5 Mbps, Verizon down 10 Mbps / up 5 Mbps. Not Cell signal degrades when you past the metal gate to the point of being unusable for data.
Terrain : Sparse Forsest
Notes
This location has at least 10-12 spots once you get past the big gravel area. It was pretty busy when we got here but there were at least some open spots. The spots are at least 500+ feet from each other. So while you can see all your neighbors, you are not right on top of them. Most of the people here seems like full timers rather than weekenders.
West Kelly Canyon Rd
Location : South of Flagstaff, AZ
GPS: 35.058564, -111.689096
Cell Signal : T-Mobile down 10 Mbps / up 5 Mbps, Verizon down 10 Mbps / up 5 Mbps
Terrain : Forested Area. With at least one large open spot
Notes
The space we parked at it seems was too close to “watering hole”. Game and Fish came out and notified us that we needed to leave. They were pretty nice about overall. I had gotten the feeling that if someone hadn't called them out to report it, they would have not bothered.
The rule in questions is ARS that states that you can not be within 1/4 of mile of natural or man made waterhole. It has some verbiage in it that make the rule a little ambiguous and even Game and Fish were sort of like “it's open to interpretation”.
A-1 Mountain
Location : West of Flagstaff
GPS: 35.21361, -111.750145
Cell Signal : T-Mobile 10 down Mbps / 4 up Mbps, Verizon 2.5 down Mbps / 0.6 up Mbps
Terrain : Light Forest with rocking ground
Notes Seems they shut down camping to the east of the road we are on. So this side of the road we are on, you can camp on but the east side of this road, is in the no camping zone. The no camping side is for logging or something.
South Of Mammoth Falls Benton Crossing Road
Location : South of Mammoth Falls, BLM Land
GPS: 37.65557, -118.79662
Cell Signal : T-Mobile 1 down Mbps / 1 up Mbps, Verizon 1 down Mbps / 1 up Mbps. The signal here is variable. I had to move the phone and hot spot a few times to get signal but the signal once gotten is workable.
Terrain : scrub brush no trees.
